Metal Sculpture  Steel and Copper Masks

The combination of Anthropological Behavioral Science and Fine Art studies, ignited Lisa’s expression of her modernized yet, traditional ceremonial masks. Masks and ceremonial dances and prayers are found in nearly every (if not, all) cultures and serve similarly throughout, as a projection of wishes, so to speak; molded and embodied in physical form to promote ideals such as protection for the village from unwanted spirits, good health and healing, to prosper in hunting or leadership, fertility or spirituality or merely to serve as art .

Forged from scrap metal (copper and steel), she produces these images of her imagination by way of torching, welding, grinding, hand-filing and heat coloring. Symbolism and markings reflect ideologies of various cultures, ranging from Asian and African to South American and Native North American.

Feathers, beads, twine, bone, fur and fibers add unique characteristics to these striking and unusual works of art.

Abstract Photo Illustration
The Twilight Series was inspired by interpersonal metaphysical relations during the time between night and day, the timeless, serenity that is so fleating and precious, soothing and calming - when the bodies themselves appear as a dream or tranquil landscapes on a timeless horizon.

Copper Healing Discs
The copper healing discs symbolize the ideology of the universal healing, creative, and energy source. The design and rythyms of color are representative of the multi-dimensional energy states, fluxes and transformations - and
of the beauty that can evolve.

The discs are made with the idea of providing a certain strength, acceptance and grace in dealing with transformation (mentally, physically and spiritually).

These discs are somewhat flexible and can be bowed out, wavy, curved in or out on the edges or flat - however you like.

Lighting plays a big part with these copper pieces.
You will notice the coloring will vary with the changing light source.
